Introduction
Metal3D.ai provides parametric AI product design drafts and engineer-reviewed custom metal parts manufacturing requests, quote review, engineering coordination, and production support. This policy explains how we collect and use information when you create designs, submit RFQs, create an account, upload files, or communicate with us.
Information We Collect
We may collect account details, contact information, company information, RFQ requirements, CAD files, drawings, project notes, shipping destination, payment and billing details, support communications, device data, usage logs, and cookies.
AI product design also stores your design descriptions, selected process, parameters, generated model versions and files. After your explicit consent, design planning sends your description and selected process to the external AI provider. This design planning workflow does not send uploaded CAD files. Do not include confidential information in the description; an NDA request for a manufacturing project does not cover text separately sent through AI product design.
CAD Files and Manufacturing Data
CAD files, drawings, and project notes may contain confidential engineering information. We use this data to review manufacturability, prepare quotes, coordinate with internal staff and partner factories, manage production, perform quality control, and support shipment. We do not publish raw CAD file URLs publicly.
How We Use Information
We use information to process RFQs, provide DFM feedback, prepare quotes, communicate with customers, create payment links, manage production orders, coordinate shipping, improve the platform, maintain security, and comply with applicable legal, export, sanctions, and payment obligations.
Sharing
We may share necessary project information with vetted manufacturing partners, logistics providers, payment processors, email providers, storage providers, analytics providers, and professional advisers. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect rights, safety, security, and compliance.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards for account data, RFQ records, and uploaded files. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so customers should avoid uploading information unrelated to manufacturing review.
